San Diego Trip

Rachel and I went down to San Diego this past weekend to visit Michelle for a long weekend visit. We had a great time enjoying the sunshine before the fires hit. On Friday, I had my first Tijuana experience and I have to be honest and say I'm not sure I'd go there again! The people down there are relentless! One small girl was even grabbing at Rachel's arm, begging for money as we walked back toward the border to go home. It was definitely interesting to watch the people... and I did come away with a few gifts. *smile*

We had to wait for Michelle to get her "fresh" churros and I thought it would be a good photo opportunity!

We visited the Birch Aquarium up in La Jolla on Sunday and saw a few really cool fish. This one was my favorite!

The fires started on Sunday and it started getting really hazy and the air was burning our noses as we breathed. And that was just the beginning! I am so thankful that I was able to leave before it got worse and I feel so awful for those who had to experience getting evacuated and not knowing whether or not they would ever see their house again! The picture above (from Michelle) shows how smokey and ashy it was near the fires.

A beautiful sunset...
