This was a really great Argentina steakhouse we went to for dinner one of the first nights. Jon and I split a 28 oz. steak! I actually couldn't help him finish it because there was SO MUCH food, but with help, we managed to clean our plate. Very good meat and very good wine. I was impressed. One of the tours we went on was to Chichen Itza, about 2 1/2 hours away from Cancun, which is a layout of Mayan ruins that are amazingly preserved. Our tour guide was super knowledgeable and made the tour that much better. It was smokin' hot that day, but I think it could've been hotter, so we were spared.
Another tour we went on to Isla Mujeres was not so great. The island itself has beautiful beaches and interesting landmarks, but the tour we had was not fun. I think it would have been much better had we gotten to the island on our own instead of taking a tour boat, and doing our own thing while we were there instead of the lame things the tour had planned. So we were disappointed overall, but at least it didn't rain on us while we were there!
We enjoyed our little vacation and didn't mind that it rained a little. It was still nice to not have to be at work (even though we love our jobs!) and using our brains all day. My favorite part of the trip was definitely laying by the pool and being waited on by the staff. It was awesome not having to leave for lunch... just ordering it and eating it by the pool! Looks like you had a great time!
Man, too bad Isla Mujeres was a flop for you guys! We had a great time over there... we didn't take a tour tho, just rented golf carts and drove them all over this island. We'll be retracing all your tracks this weekend! Can't wait!
By the way... could you share the name of the Argentinian steakhouse you went to & where was it at? We might try it out. :)
Yes, we were disappointed with the tour we had of Isla Mujeres, but I'm sure it's fun going on your own! Hopefully the weather will be sunny for you guys! I definitely recommend the restaurant we went to - it's called Cambaleche I think. And it's located near Coco Bongo in that mall right there, on the second floor. Kind of pricey, but totally worth it. Have fun!!
yeah for vacation! Are you back already? Bummer. missed you tho. :)
Perfect, thanks! :)
