The grand opening party of the spa that Jon has been working at was last Friday night. It was a really nice party and Jon is really thankful to be done and have his work be enjoyed by the spa employees and clients! Several friends stopped by to see it, and Jason and Bruce even played music!

Jon and I, enjoying the festivities. He was sooo sick that night. I think he might have gotten food poisoning from the night before! So, he stayed for a little while but decided to go home and then spent the rest of the weekend in bed.
The walls in the main area are all Lusterstone, hand-trowelled with 3 coats! Lots of work, for sure. It looks really great and really fits in with the mediterranean theme of the spa.
Jon hand-painted a leopard pattern with a zebra border in the owner's office. It is so hard to capture on film how amazing it looks! The look is finished off with a glaze on the upper portion of the wall. Sooo many hours spent in that little room.
Mari, Brian, me, Jon, LaurieI didn't end up taking too many photos, as there was so much going on and so many people to talk to! The rest of our photos are on our Flickr website and a few more are on Sarah's Flickr page. Also, if you want more information about Jon's work, his website is up and running, with more photos being added soon!
